We are Nature is a multiple graphic in book format, printed in silkscreen and risograph, made in an analogous way, using 37 positives of Albanene paper and black ink that were directly developed in 3 different silkscreen workshops in Oaxaca and a 4-page file in digital format to the risographic printing press in CDMX. The edition is 28 pages long and consists of 50 copies signed and edited with gouache and gold ink on the central double page.
We Are Nature is a graphic representation of flora and fauna accompanied by a 5-line personal manifesto. Throughout the book there are also symbols such as cosmic elements and some phrases or words that function as small invocations to the universe. Through the process of creating this book, Mirel Fraga reflects/thinks about other possibilities of her own existence and that of other beings.
Somos Naturaleza was drawn and printed entirely during the 2020 pandemic in the following screen printing workshops in the City of Oaxaca: Moska Ink (Donaxi and Edgar Galdino); Lapiztola (Alex Ramírez); Registration (Oscar Escobar) and risography: SARA in CDMX.
